Our Story

How it all started...

Prompted by the Lord, Stuart and Jenny Agnew (with their two children and a band of believers) planted The Tribe Church in Ruimsig, Johannesburg on the 6th of August 2006. They planted out of New Covenant Church Bryanston with the full endorsement of that leadership, and the NCMI Apostolic Team.

In September of 2022, after 16 years, Tribe relocated from Ruimsig to our current, unusual venue on the R114 near the Muldersdrift area. It was an absolute gift from the Lord and a fulfilment of one of God's gracious promises to us. Glory to God!

Church plants...

The Agnews were later led by the Lord to venture across the Gauteng  border and plant a church in Parys.  As a result, on  the 18th March 2012, Tribe Parys was born Their heart was to establish two unique congregations, one in Ruimsig and one in Parys, with the same vision and values.
On the 24th September 2017, Stuart and Jenny ordained Thinus and Santie Nortje as elders, to help with the work . The Nortje family moved from Johannesburg to Parys in obedience to the call of God. They developed a deep love for the people and the town they  call “The City of Glory.”
On 6th  Nov. 2021 the Tribe Parys became a fully autonomous church . The Nortjes decided to rename Tribe Parys as Ecclesia Family Church under their leadership, with the understanding that they would continue with the Agnews as apostolic and prophetic oversight of the work.
